Cassandra Bynder

Descended from Noongar and Yamatji people and raised in the South West of WA, Cassandra has been evolving as an artist since a young age, exploring many mediums And styles over the years.
Currently she's exploring the mediums in oils and natural pigments. After years of searching for her own 'artistic voice', Cassandra's art has blossomed with earthy undertones of her noongar heritage and connection to country, exploring themes around womanhood, motherhood, the spirit, healing, generational trauma, mental health and expression.
Her paintings often feature hands, faces, water, wildlife and flora from Wadandi Boodja and she has won two local art awards in recent years - 1st place for still life at Wagin Woolarama Art Award 2017 and the Indigenous category in the Vasse Art Award 2021.
